The Ottawa region has been ranked sixth in the world in terms of its quality of life. The ranking, by 'The Corporate Resources Group' of Switzerland, is based on factors such as low crime rates, environmental cleanliness, public services, political stability, the economy and social conditions.

About Ward 21
Eighty per cent of Ottawa's geography consists of farm fields, rural villages and small communities outside the urban boundary. Rideau-Jock is one of five rural wards, and is over 700 square kilometres. Ottawa's entire urban area could fit within Rideau-Jock with room to spare. Ward 21 is larger than Toronto.
