The Children's tax credit lets parents
claim up to $500 per year for eligible
fitness expenses paid for each child who is
under 16 years of age at the beginning of
the year in which the expenses are paid.
If a child qualifies for the disability tax
credit, parents can claim up to $500 per
year in eligible fitness expenses paid for
the child who is under 18 years of age at
the beginning of the year. Also, if at least
$100 in eligible fitness expenses has been
paid for the child, an additional amount of
$500 can be added to the eligible fitness

HOW TO REGISTER
(Please note, decisions to cancel a program due to low registration are made one week prior to start. Register early!)
ONLINE: Direct your browser to www.ottawa.ca and click on the 123GO Register logo to
view programs and to sign up for a course. Please have your credit card number and expiry
date ready (Visa/MasterCard). You will need your Family PIN, Client Barcode and Course
Barcode(s).
TOUCH TONE TELEPHONE: At 613-580-2588, please have your credit card number
and expiry date ready (Visa/MasterCard). You will need your Family PIN, Individual
Number and Course Barcode(s).
IN PERSON: Visit a Recreation Facility identified on Page 4 and 5 of the Recreation
Guide or any Client Service Centre (Metcalfe CSC -Tuesdays ONLY or North Gower CSC -
Thursdays ONLY) prior to the start of any course that has a program code. Payments
accepted by cash, cheque (made payable to the City of Ottawa), debit or credit card
(Visa/MasterCard).
What is a Family PIN Number?
A Family PIN Number is an Identification Number that the City's Registration System creates to allow you to
register for specific programs. It enables you to list all family members set up in the City of Ottawa
Registration Database.
What is a Client Barcode?
A Client Barcode is associated with the Family PIN Number. Once all individuals in your family have been set
up in the City of Ottawa Registration Data base with a Family PIN Number each family member is then
assigned their own Client Barcode to allow each family member to register individually for programs.
What is a Course Barcode?
A Course Barcode is listed beside each program in the Recreation Guide and this flyer. It enables you to
register for a particular program.
In order to obtain a Family PIN Number, Client Barcode please call 613-580-2588 Monday to Friday,
7 a.m. 7 p.m. and follow the prompts.
